Re: Practice Routines - Getting it on Paper
If you didn´t succed in the past maybe you weren´t doing what I´m proposing... Just sayin´. 8-) I slept on it and when I woke up this morning I wanted to say that the reason I feel it is important to have something written down is so that I can actually continue to do that "thing" day aft...

Re: Practice Routines - Getting it on Paper
I tried in the past to force me into practicing some stuff... Like, OK, today I´m gonna practice left foot clave just beacause it´s Monday. And frankly it didn´t worked for me. I relate practicing to approaching literature for instance. There´s an art in the way you present someone (or yourself) wi...

Re: Practice Routines - Getting it on Paper
Thanks for the suggestions Deseipel and langmick. I took the advice to set some benchmarks and recorded several exercises and grooves. Listen back is super painful but I'm excited to keep at it and record again in a month or two. It will be interesting to compare the two versions of the different th...

Joe, I'm loving the podcast. You really do a great job with the questions and conversation. I hope you can keep them coming! Now...can we hope for a Vinnie edition? .gif)

Practice Routines - Getting it on Paper
This thread - http://www.houseofdrumming.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1702 got me thinking a lot about how I've struggled with consistency in the practice room. I honestly believe my lack of organization, discipline, and simply working on improving my weaknesses DAILY (with occasional days off...

Re: Vinnie's new cymbals
For my ears; the kit sounds good. I like the toms more then the kick. The cymbals are interesting. Its crazy hearing Vinnie on Paiste. I really do like the ride and the china. The crashes have that signature paiste mid-range thing that I really dislike.
At the end of the day its Vinnie all the same.

Re: Dennis Chambers tonight - Baked Potato
You were not expecting that Dennis was that good ? Where are you from Isaac ? :o In France we say that Dennis is part of the holy trinity, Vinnie, Dave and him. ;-) I meant my statement to read like this; "I wasn't expecting Dennis to be as good as he was". In other words, Dennis is a dru...
