Re: DAVE WECKL - The thread about Dave
I thought it was funny they had to use a still shot of Dave smiling during the "smile montage" at the end.... "ok we found 3 frames of a smirk, was that a smirk? Yes, I think that was a smirk...are you sure? yes, let's use that...." What Im saying here folks, he don't smile much....

Paul, can you talk about what the sound differences are between your coated ambassador and coated PS3 on your bass drum? and do you using muffling.

Re: weird requests
Have we ever worked out parts for songs? well, yes. Experience tells us that everyone hears music differently and it can clash. If the bass player is paying you and you are a hired gun, do what he says. If not, try to be helpful and work it out, and if it doesn't work, try something else. If you don...

Re: The WHY?!? snare thread.
I know a lot of people that LOVE talking about gear. Maybe Im snobby, maybe Im not, but it bores me sometimes. People go on and on how awesome sounding this or that is, and then I hear it and it sounds like rubbish - to ME. Sound is very very subjective. Why would I care what other people play and w...

Re: Every drum clinic ever
That was pretty good. I don't mind that clinics are "chopsy-orientated". If you are going to perform in front of drummers, why not throw is some zesty stuff? It is part of the whole thing...it may be a small part, but let's face it, drummers that have been playing a long time like and appr...

Re: Mark Guiliana
It's a valid point and I tend to agree. Part of the allure is the physical aspect of the instrument. My favorite players tend to play BIG...Copeland - big motions - Peart, Gadd, Vinnie - big motions. It looks cool. Donati. Even the fusion and jazz guys play big...Tony, Cobham, Elvin. I forget where ...

Re: Ebay/CL deals... Stuff for sale.
I've seen bigger drumshops with less stuff.
I'd take all the roto toms off and make a Bozzio Roto Kit.
Everytime I see a kit like that, I think "Well, he doesn't gig...."
