Please excuse the ignorance but was Dream Theater a cover band?
I never paid any attention to them, but it was my understanding that they were a prog rock band.
By the way that LP solo was sub-par.

Thanks for the replies. A friend gave me a GC400C Gibraltar rack to play with. It has the 24" side bars. I hung the 15" and a crash and it felt pretty solid. I haven't seen a short bar option for the Hex Rack yet. I'm a bit of a Yamaha-aholic so I'll see if the local Guitar Center will let...

Hi,

I'm trying to decide between the Hex Rack II and the Gibraltar Rack.
I'm floating a 10" & 12" over the bass drum and a floating 15" for a floor.
On the Gibraltar I can hang the 15" without an additional leg for support.

Can you do that with the Hex Rack ?

I had a conversation with Vinnie years ago about sitting low. He said that it was the cool thing back then, but it caused a lot of back pain. So he raised his seating position considerably higher.

Protection Racket cases are my favorite. I've used many different brands but imo PR are the best.
The only thing that bugs me is that they don't have a shoulder strap attached to the bass drum bags.

Wonder if they will come out with an all white set of Luds for VC.

It will be interesting hear how the Luds and Paiste combo changes Vinnie's voice.
