The best drum school in North America- I feel like although I paid for my education- they gave me a career. All the folks running it are NYC bred so they just got caught up in BS I'm sure. I sincerely hope they can rise above this and continue their amazing work.

As working drummers- IMO we should understand that he gets hired as much as he does because he plays so uniquely. Like Kenny Aronoff- his playing style is so different- it really is the definition of "branding". I really feel as freelancers we really should figure out how to "brand&qu...

I believe this recording technique could also be known as "engineers figuring out new ways of sucking the groove out of tracks"

Re: Poll: Timekeeping... external or internal?
One thing that playing with a click does is solve any conflict regarding time in a group situation. If a member feels the time is off (too fast/too slow) instead of just blaming the drummer- it creates a dialogue within the group as to where everyone feels a song tempo should be!

I really wonder how he gets that signature snare sound!?[/quote]
Many years ago, their soundman told a friend and we tried it- Take the Supra, Put a CS coated black dot on top- put an EMPORER clear on the bottom with a 40 strand snare. Tune em up! "Coink!!" there it is!

Re: 12 x 8 tuning issue - Yamaha players help!
A good friend of mine just had the same problem with the same new drum and size- turned out to be an uneven bearing edge on the bottom! very out of character and Yamaha replaced it immediately with no fuss.

Re: Blushda (and apology)
Long time member here- occasional poster- I've toured with Jeff Bowders (he's freaking incredible) and I'm also a huge fan of Jeff Indyke, Mike Johnston and Steve Holmes because they are actively showing us how to improve- and honestly? I've learned a ton from each of them through the generosity tha...
