Re: Vic Firth 'joins forces' with Zildjian
You start putting the light of reality onto stuff like that and the silliness becomes very apparent. I don't think it is silly at all. I've bought bricks of sticks and found that there is a wide range of weights in there. I don't blindly grab a new one when I play, there is one ready to go on top o...

Re: Vic Firth 'joins forces' with Zildjian
I always check pitches of sticks before I buy them. I like the higher pitched ones, since the wood is denser than the lower pitch ones. I also try to get sets of sticks close to the same pitch. I also like to mark the ends of my pairs specific with numbers to match them up before I put them in my st...

Re: Winter NAMM List of Performances
I'll be playing at the Zildjian booth, then the Sabian booth, the Vic Firth booth, the Yamaha and Pearl booths, then if nobody stops me I'll be playing at the Tama booth and then the Evans and Remo booths and then the Bosphorous and Roland booths... Andy, you sound like the guy we nicknamed "H...

Re: D'Addario aquires Pro Mark
I think the purchase of ProMark by D'Addario can only help the quality of the product. They've done a great job with Evans drumheads. I would love to see non warped ProMark sticks!

Re: I saw the Stanton Moore Trio last night (review)
Stanton is a great dude and a monstrous drummer/musician! DrumCounselor on this forum was playing with Mike Dillon (Mike plays in Garage A Trois with Stanton) and got to tour with Galactic for a bit. They are pretty good friends and we get to hang out with Stanton & Galactic when they come to to...

Re: What heads are you currently using?
I've been using Aquarian heads for the past 5 years and have been totally satisfied! For the past year, I've been using Coated Response 2's (or Coated Double Thins before the quit making them) on tops of my toms and Texture Coated heads on the bottoms. I've been trying to duplicate that Benny Greb t...
