Re: Landau, Herring, Krantz, Carlock, Mbappe form new band..

I just received Keith's email regarding new year gigs and other happenings in his world. I am looking forward to seeing the Ringer's either in Charlotte or Washington DC in February. When I saw Jimmy in Charlotte, last yr with the touring band he had, his playing and sound was huge! To see the other...

Re: Steven Wilson live in Mexico (Marco Minemman on drums)

Marco is growing on me in this context- but his gear sounds awful. That snare drum and the soulless pingy ride cymbal, specifically, leads me to believe that the sound of a poo hitting the floor would sound better. Maybe Steven wanted something different from Gavin, and I totally get that. But it m...

Re: Vinnie to back all artists @ Ken Cen-Monk Drum Competit

...and to think I was asked by a drummer friend to attend the Guitar Center Drum offs!?? (I refused. I had my share of that event while in Charloette! Seeing young guys wanking the latest gospel like/style chops gets real tiring real quick) I had been anticipating going to this event, since hearing ...

Re: Brushes

I disagree! Mine has held up just fine and have no complaints getting to brushes or other sticks I may need from the stick bag/"table top." The 1st iteration (Yamaha) of it. I like the dw model (later redesigned model) with the little stand. Makes for it to be easier to get to, as ...

Re: Gergo & Eric Moore !!!

OMG 2:14 was silly insane. Perhaps the most muscle/craziest thing I've seen, with the exception maybe being Ron Bruner Jr. I know I'm a fool for even going into this, but just watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTlTzzdIMF0 Regards, Fanboy PS: Oh, and while I'm at it, maybe watch this too: h...

Re: Ralph Peterson

Ralph is great and I recommend everybody to buy his albums, some great agressive Jazz Hard Bop music, I love it. I second that! Also, Eric Harland has a dvd coming out from the same company. Ari, Ralph and Eric...lots of cool winter fun to be had with this three musicians! I can't wait. Rodge, is Y...

Re: Superstition cover / ERIC HARLAND with SF Jazz Collectiv

Was this recent, the recording? I would love to find a copy of the live dvd, they did a couple of years ago...Eric is one of my favorites and Stefon...whew! I kind of find the arrangement a bit heavy handed...tedious. ????
