Re: VINNIE - The thread about Colaiuta

Rudy the LOOP man...that was funny! "I'm just playing..." Vinnie has gigged everywhere...but is there anything more empowering than a hot female standing next to you in close proximity like that clip when you are holding court? All she has to do is stand there...and you want her attention ...

Re: Steve Smith

Frontiers is a drum masterpiece...Steve composed parts with surgical expertise on this one!
Talk about NOT overplaying...he just rides the pocket during the solo w/sparse BD play and
lets the groove take over...drum sound is incredible.

Chester's kids attended a school I worked at...used to pick them up and nobody knew who he was...he played at the high school function with A players...did a fusion style gig...deer in the headlights from the student... I wanted to yell out, "Kids...this is CHESTER THOMPSON...Zappa, Genesis&quo...

Re: OFFICIAL JEFF PORCARO THREAD

LOL...I want to know your Mozilla history for you to stumble on this one Paul! Evidently, a failed McCartney project even Ringo hated; http://ultimateclassicrock.com/paul-mccartney-give-my-regards/ Luke on the other hand loved it; As a result of the Jackson-McCartney session, Steve Lukather and Jeff...

Kurtis...nice! Warren Ham...the one man everything! Incredible how significant this musician is in a band. Lenny is badass as well! WOW Paul...I have more respect for Branford than just about anyone...
Justin is a pretty aggressive cat...entertaining for the crowd to watch
over the refined approach of Joe La Barbera.

Re: Mr. Gadd

The '73 solo was aggressive. Steve just never gets too far out of pocket... The Stevie groove was very close to church drumming...Stanley at the MI clinic talked a lot about watching Stevie closely picking up on his motions for cues...really interesting stuff catered to one artist's style. Gadd is s...
