Re: new Satriani cd
Jeff Campitelli , Joe Satriani's long-time drummer, is a great rock drummer. I have almost all of Satriani's CD's and DVD's, and Campitelli plays great all of the time. I also saw them live in 2008. I have often said that he has the best job in the world. I believe in playing what is best for the so...

Re: Gibson raid
I serves Gibson right for how they ruined Slingerland. Ha! They didn't exactly "ruin" Slingerland, but you have a point. They definitely dropped the ball, and it's shameful. I actually emailed Gibson a few months ago asking them what was going on and what their plans were with Slingerland...

Re: A Letter from Bob Moses to the Boston Phoenix (2001)
Some musicians who are very acomplished, fully developed on his or her respective instrument are not gifted composers. Does that mean they should stop playing because it is not their own music? I think you may have misunderstood the main thrust of the letter. I think Bob was angry because people we...

Re: New Product: Sabian Omni
What's in a name anyway? I couldn't care less what they are called, or the implications of the name. I only care what they sound like, and on the website I heard the cymbal I have been dreaming about. I will have to hear the 18" in person, but I am probably going to buy one. Some of you are way...

Re: New Product: Sabian Omni
After listening to all the videos, I have decided to buy the AAX OMNI 18". If I like it as much as I expect to, I will trade in most of my other cymbals (Sabian AA and AAX) to buy the 22". I am quite impressed with these new cymbals. Peace and goodwill.

Re: Vintage HiFi Suggestions?
I suggest checking out Boston Acoustic speakers. Those are in the tradition of the "east coast" speaker sound of Advent, AR, etc. Onkyo makes great, not too expensive, receivers that are similar sounding to older receivers. Some of the Sherwood receivers are OK too. Marantz is still around...
