Drum Head art

Weird question, but does anyone know of the best writing instrument or even paints to draw designs or pictures and whatnot on drumheads that will stand up to repeated beating from drumsticks? For instance, is the Remo or Evans logo on each head just standard ink or is it something a little more subs...

Re: Steve Holmes vids

One of my favorite little things you do is lay into a crash and then just hold your hand there for a couple of beats. Visually, it just makes a really strong statement. I'm stealing it!

What happened to these guys?

Chester (and Zoro, I think?) both live here in Nashville. Chester plays straight ahead jazz gigs all over town. I think they both do or did teach lessons at Fork's Drum Shop.

Kenny Wollesen

Just heard a really great new album called Modern Lore by Julian Lage and has some terrific playing throughout including the rarely discussed Kenny Wollesen. I highly recommend a listen and wonder if any of you have any favorite recordings that Wollesen has played on? I love the Bill Frisell album E...

Re: VINNIE - The thread about Colaiuta

I’ll give that first one a listen again, but there must be something about it (and all the others) that I don’t like because I WANT to love this band, I just don’t for some reason.
