Re: Hi Cats- Just checking in to say hello.

Nice touch Phil! And great production with that video. Sounds really nice. I've never seen that ride before (the lower one). It has a nice wobble and cool dry sound. Thanks Paul! I had a really fantastic director on that shoot in LA. Mark Putnam, he does lots of film and TV so he really knew his st...

Hi Cats- Just checking in to say hello.

Its been a while since I been on here. With so many sites to keep track of...my old haunts seem to be drifting away. So I just wanted to swing by and send greetings. I am in Southern Italy at the moment. Wrapping up work stuff. Then headed back to NY in a few weeks. If you want to see some pics of w...

on the subject of fundraising for projects

Hi All.... Just getting some feedback if possible. I see that there is a thread about a fundraiser for a project on this board. I am wondering how you all feel about this. I am afraid...that this is the wave of the future due to pirating. It seems that funds to produce major projects are scarce beca...

Re: Stick Choice and Rebound

Hey cats...just want to give my .02

I use Regal tip groovers a lot and love them for up front weight and length. Rebound is definitely helped by those factors for me.
Peace

Re: ? for Phil Maturano RE: Soca Punch

The other parts are the soca sections. Many of those variations i got from Boogsie Sharp. One of the greatest pan players probably ever. He dug those variations and I kind of kept em in the groove library:-)

Re: ? for Phil Maturano RE: Soca Punch

Lets try this again.
I will post several times to see if it works haha!

So yes the tune is a mix of Soca and Timba. The "Timba" parts are where the bells come in and its pretty improvised. No set patterns really. Just based off the Timba concept.
