Few years ago I went form my trusty old YAMAHA 9000 model pedals to a set of Pearl Demon Direct Drives that I could never really get the right feel of. Having said that I went to a set of Eliminators and converted them to "strap" drive as my first pedal as a teen was a Pearl strap drive......
