Re: new Satriani cd

I've never understood this, except that I do understand that Satriani needs a name to move his product. That said, when you have a guy like Vinnie playing, why subject us to tunes that ANY DRUMMER WHO FREQUENTS HOD could play? Feature the guy, especially if you want us to shell out money! That tune...

Re: Anybody playing in a metal/heavy group? Let's hear it!

Not all of them but yeah, I've been his first call drummer for a good while now. Since 2006 I've played in all the stuff he's done except for Supra. See first link ;) Oh I hadn't seen the second links, so you've been playing in his last tour which i believe I read has just finished right? Heard it ...

Re: Anybody playing in a metal/heavy group? Let's hear it!

I actually play heavy stuff all the time :) of all the stuff I've done this is my project along with three great musicians: http://youtu.be/z2fyoXEvekw And lately I've been very involved with this band. Same vocalist, solo project. We're getting in great live shape and I just go for the heaviness :...

Re: Anybody playing in a metal/heavy group? Let's hear it!

Here's a little teaser of my band's upcoming album http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hl-VakwXl8E I've working on this for something like 3 or 4 years, I don't even remember anymore. We've had SO many obstacles and we still do. When I finish this album I am gonna stop playing in bands and move on with m...

Re: Vinnie's new cymbals

I heard some of it I think it was on a Karizma new recording on Spotify, the sound was to dry for my taste and the cymbals didn't express anything memorable, quite dull overall, just like his playing..... Interesting. Honestly, I don't think he was playing Paiste cymbals on that session. I'm surpri...

Re: Vinnie's new cymbals

I don't like VInnie's new sound, period. I guess he needed some change but to me his Grestch/Zildjian sound was just perfect. And what with his new kit setup?

European Mantra, Gergo Borlai's band, great fusion stuff!

These Hungarian guys are really taking it forward. This is some excellently done progressive fusion stuff, not only the playing is top notch but the compositions are very interesting too. Check it out.

Re: Steven Wilson live in Mexico (Marco Minemman on drums)

Funny how subjective music can be, I myself really liked Marco's sound here, it's not the standard, it has an exoticness to it that I think fits the overall exoticness of Steven's solo material (which btw I think sounds nothing like PT). And by the way also, I don't think Marco was trying to sound &...
