Re: New unreleased Vinnie footage - Richman show second set

Man you can totally tell it's one of those perfect nights... the room sounds good, the band is good, the vibe is good. What a cool capture.

Also transcribing 8 bars of any of this would take me at least couple months to begin to sink in. He's definitely in the zone.

Re: Drummers Who Seemed to Dissapear.

I often wonder about the big name drummers (who arent actual celebrities) and wonder what paid their bills for this month. Like who? Anyone besides Tommy Lee, Travis Barker, Ringo Starr, Dave Grohl etc... Basically everyone on Drummerworld minus the huge name players who have celeb status or are de...

Re: What's your most difficult part of the Rudimental Ritual?

how do you play triplets while keeping the samba foot pattern? I attempt to play by feel. or do you adjust the foot pattern to triplets as opposed to eights/sixteenths? I have the foot pattern on such an autopilot that they stay playing straight 8ths while my hands are playing triplets. If I adjust...

What's your most difficult part of the Rudimental Ritual?

For me it's the Flamadiddlediddle... I hate that thing. Also the flam accents with the flam on the second partial are awkward. Honorable mention to the Ratamaflam, that one catches me off guard. Also does anybody actually play the triple stroke needed to go from the six-stroke roll section into the ...

Re: Yamaha brings back Tour Custom

Looks awesome. The price is a little on the spendy side for me (especially for a shell pack w/o snare) but a used one for 8-900 would be a good deal. I like how they have 10 lugs on the bass drum. It's subtle but I think it makes a drum kit look much more professional and legit than an 8-lug. For a ...

Re: Vinnie with Dom . . .

Well, it was nice to hear him talk about drumming for the first 10 minutes. I really need to do an interview with Weck and Vinnie playing clips of my favorite stuff of theirs and get them talking about it. Ugh. That's a great idea. If anyone can make it happen here, it's you! That'd be great to see...

Re: Playing Covers: How Picky is Too Picky???

I'm usually particular about the drum parts unless we're clearly doing a different version of the song. I can't stand it when everyone in the band has learned the riff or whatever, but the drummer is playing the wrong groove or kick drum pattern. I like to be exact when I can on other people's parts...
