Grestch Night at Birdland

Hi Guys, I don't know if this has been shared or not but by all accounts it's pretty rare. It's an old gig that was released of Elvin, Charlie Persip, Philly Joe Jones and Art Blakey all basically shedding way back when. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/c1woguhj9frzfb2/AAAISRAQ5AzWlAFSRd_nKupna You should...

Re: Methods & Mechanics II DVD

Got mine today, just had a quick skim. Awesome! It's amazing that you managed to out do the first one...but ya have!! Quick tip point on how to hit the cymbals - so true. The amount of guys coming into a store with broken cymbals that could have been saved if they knew how to hit 'em...and that's ev...

Re: Matt Chamberlain

I had the privelage to see him play with Tori Amos a couple of years ago and have agin this November. Can't wait. What instantly struck me is his sound. He sounds AMAZING. Those Craviottos and Istanbuls sound outrageous...and he can dig a groove soooo deep.

Re: What would you create?

I have a segemted shell snare drum. It looks kind like brick work, but there are no plies as such. Essentially it's a solid shell, made from segments of the material. Dunno how much difference it makes to the sound but it's pretty cool. It was made for me by a guy who came into my work ( I work PT I...

Re: Jack! A Love Supeme!

The blushda thing was tonuge in cheek - I know how evolved the blushda has gotten. You mention Tony and then proceed to slag Jack off in the process. Both guys have evolved the drumset and indeed MUSIC more than most drummers will ever come close too. Also, the thread is called A Love Supreme for a ...

Re: In ear monitors

Sound advice guys - pun intended ;-) Thank you very much! Mark - I'd really loved to try the ACS stuff, but at the minute I simply can't afford it. I've found a pair of Ultimate Ears Triplefi 10's for around my price range and from what I've read they seem to be pretty decent, at least to get me goi...

In ear monitors

Hi guys, Has anyone got decent experience of in ear systems - what is good and what isn't so good? I'm using an in ear system for a show I'm doing but it's my first time. However, it's amazing - the clarity and comfort it brings to playing is outrageous, can't believe I've never done it before. I'll...
