Re: Drummers Collective clusterfu** = they need help

I cannot believe this amazing demonstration of stupidity and incompetence. Probably shared on both sides. Long story short: -Drummers Collective moves to a new building where they are assured sound proofing in this new building. -They spend mad money building rooms inside new building, move into to...

Re: Drummers Collective clusterfu** = they need help

The best drum school in North America- I feel like although I paid for my education- they gave me a career. All the folks running it are NYC bred so they just got caught up in BS I'm sure. I sincerely hope they can rise above this and continue their amazing work. I'm also an alumni of The Collectiv...

Re: NAMM 2013- LA HOD Hang?

Hey- I'll be at NAMM. Is there an official hang? I would love to meet up with some of you. Unfortunately, it's going to be a pretty quick trip this time around as I'll only be there for Thursday & Friday. I have an artist signing at the Sonor booth at 4:00pm on Friday, but other than that I'll j...

Re: The Best & Worst Things Of Being An Older Drummer

One of the hardest things to get a handle on is balance. Everything has a price. The decision to reproduce is not one to be taken lightly ( I waited until I was relatively financially secure before I went there), and kids, relationships, day gigs, etc., do take time - but they offer rewards of thei...

Re: Montreal Drum Festival

DSOP to the rescue! Thanks again, my friend! No problemo. Nice playing man. I'd love to pick up some recordings of this trio. Thank you very much for your help and kind words. It's funny because I'm actually heading over to the studio in a little while to finish a recording with Simon and Evan, exc...

Re: Montreal Drum Festival

Finally there is a bit of footage up from my performance at Montreal that I can share, so I'm going to attempt to post it in the correct way! One clip was put up by Evans on their site and the other clip was put up by my friend Simon Yu (he's also the incredible guitarist in the clips). They were bo...

Re: Drum&Bass question

I play a lot of DNB and I really like to try and incorporate it into all different facets of my playing when I can. Playing this type of music made me think about how to use just a kick, snare and hi-hat. This set up encourages a "less is more" approach that has helped me focus on soloing ...
