Back to mikes. I would recommend sm57 for snare top and bottom, cause they're cheap, workable and durable. I you're willing to spend a bit more I can really recommend the Cad Equitek e-100 on snare (and bass drum strangely enough!) You can find these for around 150-200 on ebay. For toms, I use these...
