Re: Drummer was killed in the attack in England.

Beat me to it. I just saw this on Google news, and had to post something here. The whole thing is quite disgusting and sad. Here's another news report. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/terrorism-in-the-uk/10077396/Woolwich-attack-murdered-soldier-Drummer-Lee-Rigby-would-do-anything-for-anybody...

Your annotations that explain your thought process during the solos is very effective. Great job with that. I think most non-straight ahead jaz...

Re: Best and fastest way to learn how to read music(?)

Hey guys, I've been playing drums for years, but don't know how to read music. What are your recommendations for learning to read music? I'd like to be able to read charts to do beat-oriented gigs (rock, country, gospel, etc.). Nothing too technical yet. Just to be able to play through songs (vocal...

Re: Russ Miller leaves Yamaha- Yamaha moving to China?

...don't know much about this, but I've been reading/hearing various rumors about Yamaha moving production to China? Also, Russ Miller has gone to Mapex (!)? Wonder if anyone else has left Yamaha? I saw Russ Miller in a master class about 15 years ago. He's a very versatile musician and a rock soli...

Re: New Donald Fagen tune for Steely Dan/DF Fans

Thanks for the heads up! SD is one of my all time favorite bands, although the Fagan/SD sound seems a bit generic since "Two Against Nature." But, I still love it.
