I remember catching Danny Gottlieb back when there were drum clinics go through a bunch of New Breed exercises. He had that stuff down. He stressed singing downbeats and melodies as a way to build the internal clock. Getting to his level would be pretty hard!

I used to play along to Cream a lot. He had a very musical way of supporting the band. Another of those odd British drummers who had a unique take.
