Re: LIVE FAKES - Listened but not played live

"Umm it kind of does if your paying a premium price for tickets" How would you know, really, whether or not it was Roger singing Run Like Hell? You simply can't. It doesn't matter when the entirety of the show is amazing whether or not there is a backing track. That's the only way to do th...

Re: New Rush single

The new one at first didn't move me at all, perhaps it was the denseness and I was listening to it in a car. After giving it a whirl just chilling, it started to grow on me, and there are some nice melodies on the album. The drumming is solid, I'm hearing a slight edge to the parts which I like, but...

Re: LIVE FAKES - Listened but not played live

I'm guessing only a small portion of Roger Waters' vox this tour were live. The video was obviously shot on a soundstage somewhere. I'm pretty sure the drums were live. There is a boot of a show in Rio with all the tracks included...click, vox, everything. But is it that important... If you have tha...

Re: Buddy Rich Documetary: Kickstarter

I wrote a reply and it apparently got eaten by the net. If I understand it, Buddy got a lot of his guys from college... Buddy barely went to schooling, of any kind. I've worked for guys like Buddy. For the most part, they expected a lot...hell, my Grandpa was this harsh to me, an Italian guy who cam...

Re: Dennis Chambers Thread

DC pretty much took over the whole show. Stole the hell out of it. People were going bonkers.

Re: Dennis Chambers Thread

A drummer friend and I were talking about seeing John M with Dennis at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor on the trio tour...he had two 4th row tix.

He didn't make it, but I did and obviously it was an astounding concert. Dennis owned the crowd that night, JML could just stand there and grin.

Re: From drums to guitar

I got a guitar too, and it is a new obsession. It's hard for me, my fingers are a mess, fat and arthritic! :o) On the other hand, playing a note and hearing the sustain, and feeling it, is pretty damn cool. You don't get that with drumming. In fact, drums seem boring! If you've ever seen Gary Pihl p...
