Re: Maple drumsticks?

SD2's are always in my bag but never my main stick. I love them for some super quiet combo gigs, ride cymbal sound is great.

I can't get over their feel though, they're not physically rewarding at all to play. I'll do a whole gig and by the end my hands are still cold.

Re: Baked Potato: INSANE Vinnie Transcription

Guys, just found this channel with a STACK of Vinnie. He seems to be a bit obsessed by him and bunging up multiple videos a day. Enjoy! :D https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWtFJeVqHK1XgJIMkwZEVaA Obsessed with Vinnie? No sympathy from this forum! Seriously though, if anyone has that video of him pl...

Re: Looking for a certain Buddy Rich video...

Yeah definitely bonham sounding bass and toms.

This whole concert is actually recorded and mixed really well. It seems like there's only VHS and DVD formats. I wonder if any straight audio exists

Re: Looking for a certain Buddy Rich video...

Insane amount of innate ability plus being born in an era where you can make a living performing every night (also in a band where you have a blank check as to how much soloing you're allowed to do). He's the perfect storm. I've always loved his snare and ride cymbal sound too. Thanks for the tip Dr...

Looking for a certain Buddy Rich video...

Hey everyone. I was talking with a friend the other day about this one buddy rich clip and I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called or where it was filmed. The video was his band performing what I believe was their final song (I want to say it was at a jazz festival but it might not...

Re: Your desert island snare...

Yeah either the Supraphonic or Acrolite for sure. 5x14

The Acrolite looks so bad but sounds so good. Plus it weighs nothing. Probably my favorite snare.

Re: De Pinging a floor tom

I just want a bit back.. It gives a bit of life to the drum that the other 2 toms have... Am I the only one out there that hears a Basketball vibe coming out of larger toms?.. Am I just crazy? No, you're not. Try the Pearl R40/3 feet. I've swapped my Sonor solid FT feet for these and don't hear tha...

Re: De Pinging a floor tom

Very interesting.

Yes i notice it on 16x16 floor toms too. Especially if they aren't mounted well or are on legs that dont have any kind of suspension.

You could do a great Jim Gaffigan impression by the way
