I think he sounds great on that kit. Far superior to anything of DW's. May even be up to part with the Yamaha stuff.
I haven't heard those drums in person, but I've heard nothing but great things regarding their Star line.

Getting back out there- Goals for 2015?
After a couple years of getting settled back in LA, a little day gig and/or financial drama, replacing stolen gear, etc, I've decided it's time for me to get back out there and play much more than I have done in 2014. This year in hopes of getting some more gigs I'm working on swallowing my pride an...

Re: SIMON PHILLIPS - The thread about Simon
He's playing a Yamaha kit there, probably what was in the house. Doesn't really matter, as his touch (even in the lower quality audio) really provides his sound.

This is a great record with Ralph: http://www.allaboutjazz.com/aphrodite-moves-on-babaghanoush-blouzo-review-by-eric-j-iannelli.php I've said before that we called him The Wizard while at LAMA. The man can play and dissect anything thrown at him. He's an amazing player, teacher, and his playing on i...

Re: Bruner with Holdsworth (Dan Quayle Edition)
Holy fuck. I mean, he's overplaying and he knows it, but the guys behind the glass know what they're in for.
Sometimes I think he's just inappropriate behind the kit. Other times I think he's just fucking SCARY.

Re: Tempo...Are you rushing or dragging? - New film
Saw this flick last night. All I'm going to say is turn off your drummer brain. The story serves itself well and the extremeness is to be taken with a grain of salt. Think of it like a sports movie with a really tough coach. Despite the horrid on-screen drumming (er... pretend drumming) that doesn't...
