Re: 3 snares to do it all...

I owned the Jimbo snare for a few years and used it for pop/rock gigs. Great snare. I sold it when I bought the Elvin Jones drum.
The Elvin is nice high or low.

Re: 3 snares to do it all...

I'd say one deep metal snare, one deep wood snare and something completely different like a 10" or 12".

Re: YOUR PRACTICE SOUND - HEADPHONES

I played my drums wide open for years but Moongel works so well I actually enjoy playing around with muffling. I just did another 8 hours of constant use from my Shure inears on the bus. I love them. Hopefully they fit YOUR ears and you like their sound.

Re: Playing Electronic Drums

I've owned every version of Yamaha's best ekits except for their latest. They all suck. V-drums suck too. Seriously they do. They're awesome for home recording and practicing if you can't play real drums but they're terrible if you're using them live, especially if you're playing traditional sounds/...

He's one of the strangest people I've ever seen. This is bizarre on so many levels.

Probably the old ones were spun and the new ones have a welded seem.

I like the Manu snare. It's another BB clone but a nice one.

Re: Brass snare drums

The hammered bronze Ludwigs are very nice. My Roy Haynes copper is also hammered. It's an excellent drum.
