Re: Sting w/ Vinnie on Letterman!

>>I don't recall seeing David Sancious there. Maybe he was off doing something else. They did have the horn section sit it.<< Sancious will not be a part of this upcoming tour. The lineup includes Dominic Miller and his son Rufus on guitars, Vinnie on drums, Peter Tickell on violin (and possibly his...

Re: What could have been....

Just checked out the price of this package...$138??? That's £89....for three CDs (old material 'curated' by Sting - a DVD, and a 'lavish' book.) Mmmmm -didn't think he needed to top up his pension pot that badly. :? Yeah, that asking price is outrageous. I think that A&M/Universal is attempting...

I couldn't come up with any footage from that particular gig, but this lengthy clip is from a show that took place a few nights later:

Re: GH on 'A Scarcity Of Miracles - A King Crimson Project'

it looks promising as i understand a couple of older Crimson alum (circa Lizard era) were recruited for this release. Mel Collins (saxophones/flute) was a member of Crimson from 1970 to 1972 - performed on 'In The Wake Of Poseidon', 'Lizard', 'Islands' - and then also contributed to 'Red' in 74. Hi...

GH on 'A Scarcity Of Miracles - A King Crimson Project'

I haven't noticed this particular release being mentioned on any thread so far, and so I thought I'd bring it to the attention of anybody else impressed by the wonderfully disciplined drumming of Gavin H. He and Tony Levin are the rhythm section for Jakszyk, Fripp and Collins and what they've produc...

Re: old school Sting w/VC

I agree, live at Miyazaki/Japan, Vinnie is NO JOKE here !!! :o Indeed. He performed at that concert as if he were an animal unleashed. Colaiuta's playing is even more impressive for the fact that he was still getting over a virus that had prevented him from taking part in Sting's two prior appearan...

Re: old school Sting w/VC

The playing. The pants. The glasses. Righteous stuff! Anyone know what DVD the show is off of.. if it is? This show was Sting's 40th Birthday Concert at the Hollywood Bowl and I believe it first aired on the Disney Channel, of all stations. Like all of the wonderful performances from the 90s with V...

Re: Herbie Hancock's spring tour backup band?

I can't fully attest to the validity of the information, but this particular site lists a lineup including Wayne Shorter, Dave Holland and Vinnie Colaiuta for an upcoming gig in the spring...
