Re: Gadd
And besides his signature licks he is able to be in command of high profile gigs, he is on top of the "food chain." he's not on the top of the "food chain" by any means, it's really more on the bottom and feeding off the stuff from back in the day. He doesnt get or play any high...

Re: Paiste 2002 Rides
Funny, I'm a total Zildjian guy, but I have a pair of 2002 sound edge hats and have been thinking about buying a 20" 2002 ride. I love the consistency from cymbal to cymbal with Paiste. It's fun to take them to rehearsal or occasional gig and break out something different. I bought the hats bec...

Re: any alternatives to p85 strainers?
The timing of your post is scary as I was just researching this yesterday. I have a Supra that does the same thing. I hate the P-85 throw! As others have said the P-86 seems to be a direct replacement. Someone also makes a retro fit kit for the trick throw. You can see it here. http://dwsnare.com/ht...

Re: Need a new Ride Cymbal; Any suggestions?
I haven't read the whole thread yet. Looking forward to hearing everyone’s opinions on the topic.... I'd love to pick up a 20" Zildjian K Custom Dark ride. Messed around with one a local GC and really like the way it sounds and feels. Right now I have a regular K Ride from about the early 00's....

Re: YESS Mounts
Hey guys!!! I ended up taking off the memory locks, and raising the tom arm so that it wasn't "bottoming out" on the triple tree (tom holder). I raised it so that 3/4 of the arm is above the clamp. On a scale of 0 - 100, where 0 is totally choked and 100 is how the tom sounds when I strike...

YESS Mounts
I searched previous threads and couldn't find much info on the topic - so if it has been discussed, my apologies. I have a Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute Noveau kit. Sizes: 7x10, 12x8, 14x14, 22x18. The kit was purchased in mid-2009 and I became frustrated with it for many reasons and basically was in...

Re: Help with attaining buzz rolls at a gig...
Concert snare drummers have the best buzz rolls, and the best of the guys ... you NEVER hear pulsing in their press rolls. It's like a magic trick. Some of them couldn't play an open stroke roll to save their lives, but they can crush like no one else. I used to play in a community concert band at ...
