Re: Mike J documentary video

Music is about music. Some of the best shit I have learned has been from people that would be considered horrible teachers. They were incredible minds, which made them incredible players, and even the best educators I have been involved with are monster, working players. Drumming is not this thing t...

Re: Taking the Anti-Piracy Argument Back From the Music Indu

It's kind of crazy how the piracy thing went from Metallica suing Napster to the biggest most successful corporations in the world ripping off everyone at both ends of the online distribution model in under 15 years.

Re: Taking the Anti-Piracy Argument Back From the Music Indu

I'm not worried about privacy. Privacy today is a fallacy. I'm concerned with Google getting away with copyright infringement. Sure, others are guilty too, but let's just start with Google. Once they're taken care of, everyone else will fall into place. We need to let creators get their rights back...

Re: Taking the Anti-Piracy Argument Back From the Music Indu

It's not a coincidence I'm seeing adverts from Vic Firth wherever I happen to be surfing online. I am very aware of this as I run a company's adwords account. Let me pretext this again with the fact that I'm not so keen on Google's privacy practices; however, I will continue to play devil's advocat...

Re: Taking the Anti-Piracy Argument Back From the Music Indu

You asked for examples of their ethical behavior, did you not? Copyright is only one of their chosen transgressions. It just happens to be the most damaging as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sure why I even need to explain it. They make it easy for anyone to share artistic creations, whether they ha...

Re: Taking the Anti-Piracy Argument Back From the Music Indu

Try doing business with Google and then you'll see what I mean. Are you seriously unaware of all the charges brought against them in the last few years? Or the billions of dollars in fines they've paid? http://www.aninews.in/newsdetail7/story125608/gmail-users-should-not-legitimately-expect-content...

Re: Taking the Anti-Piracy Argument Back From the Music Indu

The whole problem would disappear if they wanted it to. Don't kid yourself that the technology is too slippery to control. Google is breaking the law every second of every minute, and not just by violating copyright law. They have governments across the planet demanding answers, and for the most pa...

Re: Taking the Anti-Piracy Argument Back From the Music Indu

Google's entire business model is to make money off of creative content without paying their fair share. Although I understand where you're coming from, this statement is a complete over-exaggeration. Google makes it's money of Advertising primarily, and although some of it's services are being use...
