Hass making a living:

I know this music is a bit cheesy and shticky but his time is a rock.

One of my favorite parts of the jam with Babko and Lefebvre:

Re: Steve Hass new youtube channel!

WOW! I love the drum ideas in the first minute and then they appear to be searching until about 8:46 where some killer ideas start flowing. Some of the long flowing fills like at 14:46 are simply amazing. What begins at 15:11 is quite simply one of the funkiest grooves I've ever heard. No wonder why...

Re: Berklee advice

Those instructors are being paid to play with you. It's not nearly the same as a jam session with upper class students who are better than you. Not only that, most upper class Berklee Students from around the globe play as well as if not better than MI instructors. Look at Kendrick Scott. An ensembl...

Re: Berklee advice

Bankruptcy doesn't cover student loans. 3 things in the USA you can't escape. Student Loans, Taxes and Death. FYI also at Berklee with Antonio was John Blackwell, Nat Morton, Steve Hass, Swiss Chris, John Roberts, Abe Laboriel Jr, and quite a few other movers and shakers in the drum business. It has...

Re: Steve Hass new youtube channel!

I agree with Pocket Player and Peter. As a semi-pro and drumming fan I also wish that Steve Hass along with Cliff Almond and a few other lesser known monster drummers would get some better gigs. Guys in this forum too like Steve Holmes and Rodge. By better I don't mean musically as much as notable. ...

Re: Steve Hass new youtube channel!

I really dig the syncopation in that groove and the fill at the end. I also found this clip of him reading with The New York Voices. He's a very functional working type drummer on top of what he can do creatively in the jazz world. This is why drummer's like this can make a living in these times. ht...

Re: Chris Dave and friends

Why do most replies attempt to critique Chris' playing? Chris is playing Chris. He has many great gigs, he's musical as a sideman and creative as a leader. He has his own thing. You don't have to like it. I personally can't listen to him be creative for too long, but it's still wonderful. He's a mas...

Re: Carlock moves to Grestch

NOT one drummer is payed to play a brand of drum, not one drum company pay there endorsee, the only thing that they sometime promise, is a number of clinic every years, this is were they got ''payed'', by doing clinic, and free gear when your are on the '' 5 stars'' roster. anything else is Bull......

Re: Ndugu Ride

That's why I wrote no offense, just my opinion. Not that I think 'drummer's that play Paiste have no taste', that would rule out my favs. Bonham especially. They break real easy and Paiste's creative process is not creative. They don't make their own complex. They are cookie cutter cymbals. It's ju...

Re: Carlock moves to Grestch

It's not for free. "A" level endorsers get free gear, and free exposure. An ad in a drum publication is exposure for the player as well as the product. Do you have any idea how much business an ad like that generates for clinics and teaching? There are drummers out there willing to pay the...
