Re: 3 snares to do it all...
I'd say a vintage CoB Supra 5x14, a solid shell Radio King 5x14, and probably a nice Brady 6.5x14. I have a few Supras and RKs, but don't have a Brady... yet. The ones I've heard are amazing.

Re: Dream Theater
I'm with amoergosum here. It comes off (to me, anyways... to each their own of course) a little over the top and pretentious. Just pick the guy and get on with it.
I would like to see Virgil in the drum seat though.

Re: ROBBEN FORD TRIO LIVE VIDEO - PARIS
Man, I love Toss Panos. Thanks for sharing this link. So much personality in Toss' groove. The stuff he's been doing with Robben Ford in the past 5-6 years is so hip. Perfect rhythmic compliment to Robben Ford's playing. Greasy, but not sloppy; busy, but understated and not overpowering; it's hard t...

Re: joe morello kills on this cut
Man, I love Joe Morello. I haven't heard anything with Joe on it that wasn't a great musical statement. He's also one of my favorite guys with the brushes. A discog of Joe on CD Universe (I wouldn't mind seeing something more comprehensive though, as percusski said): http://www.cduniverse.com/search...

Re: Me covering Dave :D
Hi Manu- that was very nice. The accents in the music were all there, and the substance in between was great too. Yamaha Player- I think that's one of Dave's newer downloadable play along "Singles Project" tracks he offers at his website ( http://www.daveweckl.com ). I tried grabbing a lin...

Re: A question about Freddie Gruber
I found this pretty funny. Freddie has some great wisdom, but the guy does talk like he's in the Matrix. There is no shortage of demonstrative pronouns with Freddie:

Re: New Years Eve gigs anyone?
Doing a sub gig with a country/classic rock cover band. Not ideal players or music but this kind of gig pays killer on New Years in the midwest. Kind of wish I'd just taken the night off to hang with my son and stay in... the weather here sucks and I already had 720 degree wipeout on the way to load...

Re: VC with Kimo Williams
I have Tracking; it reminds me a lot of Jaco Pastorius' Word of Mouth. The compositions have that flavor. I did not like it at first. After a while it grew on me though. Some great VC stuff on it.
