Re: Gadd

Gadd is the pioneer of applying rudiments to the kit. Whatever your opinion is, check him out, listen, read and appreciate. I fully agree with Bigbone you got to respect his work. Personally, I like this a lot, it's got nothing to do with Gadd from the 70's but it's music... http://www.youtube.com/w...

Re: Jack! A Love Supeme!

There's a great DVD with beautiful composed and performed music;

In Europe the cover art is different but it's the same release.

IMHO highly recommended stuff. Please check it out.

Re: Gadd

IMO without Gadd no DW (especially DW) and VC! And besides his signature licks he is able to be in command of high profile gigs, he is on top of the "food chain." If you saw him with Paul Simon, Al Jarreau or Eric Clapton, there's the artist and there's Gadd as their wingman. Whatever happ...

Re: Jack! A Love Supeme!

I am a fan! Jack's got big ears! He is so musical that his groove goes way beyond time keeping and playing licks. But up to a certain agree I understand what Josiah is writing. I have the same with a lot of solo's put on the internet. I prefer to hear a drummer in a band.

Re: Methods & Mechanics II DVD

Highly appreciated! It's probably like bringing your kid to school for the first time. This is your baby and it's hard to let go. You're a badass player and I am looking forward to watching your new DVD. Thanks for the update and being an inspiration to practice my ass off.

Re: WHoah check this badass Todd live cam video!

Todd is a powerhouse, great stuff!!! Love the singles. :oops: Don't like the music, though. I don't want to be a pain but would love to see Todd in different bands and especially singer / songwriter's music and hear his creativity, musical skills and chops merged with music that breaths.

Re: Vinnie Clinic London 1987 [audio]

I looked it up on Wiki; clinic in music; an informal meeting with a guest musician, where a small- to medium-sized audience questions the appearing musician's particular styles and techniques. What's wrong with using his info at home? It stimulates practicing and while practising you form your own i...

Re: The best musicians are not the best players...

Mr. Metheny has studied and quoted Miles Davis. Miles Davis:"Don't play what's there, play what's not there. Don't listen to what's there, listen to what's not there. Don't play the idea that's there, play the next idea. The best musicians are not the best player, they are the best listeners.&q...
