Re: Vinnie's 'I'm tweaked' cover - J.Lundberg Band

IMHO they should have done without the click accompaniment. Probably would've grooved harder and helped the "organic" feel of the tune.

Heernt- "Locked In A Basement" transcription (Mark Guiliana)

Recently finished up this transcription, and figured I'd share. It was definitely a doozy, but equally as fun to work through. And Guiliana is a beast!! Here is the original tune, if you haven't heard it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NToGVbGrZ8o Here is my performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Re: Nervous, yet quite excited.

So... How it went? ;) Well unfortunately, Peter ended up not being able to do the recital. He was out of town on tour for a few weeks during the end of March/beginning of April, during which time I had to perform (and pass) my recital jury. It's required that the jury be composed of the actual perf...

Re: The real sh*t

I love the drummer's touch and his cymbal sound. Ohhh yes. Nate Wood, one of the tastiest drummers on the scene right now (imo). Super multi-talented, excellent composer, and all-around amazing musician. One of my personal fav tracks (killer drum sound): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLHe_wLD5TY

Re: Anybody playing in a metal/heavy group? Let's hear it!

Good thread! This is my band: http://bcvband.bandcamp.com/album/carousel BTW if anyone of the London-based HODers know available bassist or a singer suitable for our project please DO let us know ;) Very cool, man. I'm digging on the guitar sounds, and that snare sounds FAT! It's gotta be a 14X7&qu...

Anybody playing in a metal/heavy group? Let's hear it!

I was thinking maybe we could get a little metal/heavy discussion and sharing thread started to check out everyone's personal projects. I don't recall seeing one posted before.. This is my prog-ish metal group, "The Gorge". This song is off our full-length from a couple years ago. Anywho, ...

Re: Check out the track I recorded recently!

It's funny how guys will tear apart random dudes on Youtube but when someone from here actually asks for critique no one wants to say anything. It's bad. The whole concept is wrong. She's different and the BAND isn't. I'm not blaming you as a drummer and I'm definitely not saying I can do better. I...

Animals as Leaders' Matt Garstka

Wow, I'm thoroughly impressed with this guy. If anybody keeps up with the progressive metal scene, you're already familiar with Animals as Leaders. Matt is their new drummer, and he's totally killing. Powerful, yet relaxed, good feel. ;) (skip to :30 in) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6xHEO-bfSI

Re: Matt Cameron

I remember being about 11 or 12 years old, and hearing Temple of the Dog's "Wooden Jesus" for the first time. It was a formative time in my young life, and this introduction to Matt's playing only helped fuel my own playing passion. Soon after, I was digging into all the good early-mid 90'...

Re: Nervous, yet quite excited.

Very well said, bensdrums. Couldn't agree more. I'll definitely have video and/or good audio of the performance, so I'll try to remember to update this thread in the spring after it's all done.
