Re: Dream Theater

Ideally, I'd prefer the gig go to Virgil. As Rudess said "he eats that stuff for breakfast". He'd definitely push them creatively. The tunes he writes himself are extremely complex. Way crazier than any DT stuff. They might not like that though. Funny that he started a DT cover band before...

Re: Josh Freese = highest paid drummer EVAR

The whole thing is a marketing ploy. He doesn't expect any of the expensive packages to sell - he says so on his site. If someone does happen to buy it (as mentioned a few people did put up money for the super expensive ones) he tries his best to follow through with what the packages are supposed to...

Re: "I check my dipstick, you need lubrication honey..."

@ Yamahaplayer- Someone had mentioned lock-tite before and said it worked great. I know it's silly to lube up and then use something to keep it from loosening, but I wanted to make sure the newly cleaned pieces wouldn't stick on me. I'm pretty sure Todd Sucherman talks about that on his DVD. He men...

Re: MD Fest 2011

The master classes are on the MDFest2010 DVD, but they are pretty much plugs for both artists respective books & DVDs. Chris Coleman still kicks it though.
The Tain & John Riley combo is a winner for me. Be very interested to see what they'll be presenting.

Re: Gavin Harrison Performce Question

Just looks & sounds to me that he displaces the beat a 16th note back for a bar until he hits that accent on the 'ah' of 4 then goes back to playing on the beat.
Love this clip. Great performance. Amazing drum sound as well!
