Re: Vic's Drum Shop, Chicago - AMAZING!!!!
I'll be visiting Victor on the way to PASIC a week from Sunday. Looking forward to seeing the new place for sure. On this road trip we'll enjoy Memphis Drum Shop, Explorer's Percussion in Kansas City, Vic's, Chicago Music Exchange, The Drum Pad, and IRC and Chops in Indy, then PASIC. Going to be a d...

Re: If you want to sell stuff online...
yeah, use paypal. I've never even heard of anything else.. if I had a niche business I could imagine selling online, but honestly there's no way to compete (price wise) with places like GC. Not true. There are some companies that sell to independents at prices that let them compete favorably with b...

Re: 12 x 8 tuning issue - Yamaha players help!
First, make sure the hex rod isn't touching the cork protector on the shell behind the mount, that will kill the sustain. Replacing the CL-945 (short hex rod for YESS) with a CL-940 (long hex rod for non-YESS) will fix this issue when it comes up. I personally have tuned many 12x8 toms and not had t...

You should put this o n you yearly valendar if for no other reason, to keep this show alive. We are so lucky...

Re: For sale: Yamaha Hex Rack
Glad you sold your shells! What's next? A downpayment on a Sucherman signature snare?! :) ! Actually, what's next is a new Club Custom 24/12/14/16 in Swirl Black. I've been battling with myself over whether or not to get the 10" tom, but I'm leaning toward one up, two down. I've played that co...

Re: For sale: Yamaha Oak Custom w/Hex Rack
not bad, i just sold one of my beech custom kits for 1400, was 22x16, 10,12,14 and 16. just the tom mounts. was a local buyer. good enough deal, someone will notice eventually. IMO the Oak Customs were one of the worst selling kits by yamaha, hence the short life and production. love them or hate t...

Re: For sale: Yamaha Oak Custom w/Hex Rack
Let me do some math here: $2200 - $1200 = $1000 for the shells? That is interesting for anyone who has Yammy hardware on hand. Plus, you should throw out where exactly you are, as to entice local inquiries. I think it's a pretty good deal considering the condition of the kit and the cases. I edited...
