You saw that coming early on, Clint.

Anyway... What the hell was that all about? Did we just witness a breakdown of some sort?

Strange. Uncool too.

Steve's embedded Bert and Ernie video was the best part of this thread.

Price List

Have a spare million laying around?

You can hire Jon McLaughlin to play 70 times.

Or, Madonna once.

Technically, it’s five notes.

Off to a bad start already.

<kidding> :)

How about a link?

You're a brave man, because I can't imagine anything being better than Steve's.

Re: Stick Choice and Rebound

Carlock seems to use rebound as effectively and musically as just about anyone I’ve seen. Maybe give his sticks a look? http://www.guitarcenter.com/Regal-Tip-Keith-Carlock-Performer-Series-Drumsticks-476191-i1445559.gc I would whole heartedly agree with those that said that there are too many variab...

Re: Tuning....Secrets

One thing I kept in mind while reading this article was, when was the last time Manu or Carter played a gig where the kit wasnt close mic'ed? That’s a great point. Close micing (with top of the line mics), a monster PA, all kinds of outboard effects, compressors, eqs and processors, and a whole tea...

Re: Tuning....Secrets

I liked the article. Not sure I’m drinking the Kool-Aid though. Playing wise, I’ve found tuning really low makes things feel much less responsive and somewhat mushy. It’s like trying to run through mud. It depends on the music and instruments you’re playing with too. Low tuned toms can quickly get l...

Re: Need a new Ride Cymbal; Any suggestions?

I just can’t bring myself to buy a cymbal online and “unheard”. I’d like to, but I just can’t seem to do it. That being said, I may be cured someday by sites like Memphis Drum Shop’s http://www.mycymbal.com/ While it’s not as good as going to a brick and mortar store with current cymbals in tow to f...

Re: Need a new Ride Cymbal; Any suggestions?

I just can’t seem to get my 20” K off my ride stand. The thing sounds excellent. An all around great ride. Rock, jazz, fusion, you name it. My 21” Sabian Dry Ride and 20” Istanbul pre-split Turk just sit and stare. http://zildjian.com/Products/Drumset-Cymbals/Cast-Bronze-Cymbals/K-Zildjian-Se...

Re: MP3 Players

I despise listening to mp3 files anymore. Especially anything ripped under 320. Got an iPad last year and made a point of only loading lossless files onto it. It’s a 64GB model so it can hold quite a bit, even in the larger Apple lossless format. I’m looking into getting a portable FLAC player, sinc...

Re: Song List Suggestions - basic groove.

For rock, I always suggest Bad Company's first record, "Bad Company". Easy to hear the drum parts in the mix, and they are easy to play as you'll find. http://lh4.googleusercontent.com/public/wTXvEFtcLxWaPByCa3eudMUlOeEK5zBtOImb7XN2Cd0Y9Hbs8c1F9j4jlpx0c_ZsKk1hkkX862yufzuSljRqIOSk_Jh1HXEjQU...
