Re: DW Tom head advice needed
I've got a DW kit and I've currently got coated ambassador heads on them but I'm likely gonna put some G2's on them. Maybe they would sound like Pridgen's drums then. I like his sound in some of his videos and I think he was using pinstripes.

Actually I heard that Vic Firth is now making the Zildjian sticks which would be a good thing. I heard it from the Hoppe's at Cadence Drums in Rochester, NY.

Re: Ask A Drum Tech!!!
Excellent blog, Jay! I might even have some questions for you. I was just thinking in the shower, if I was better at Math I 'd like to mathematically figure out what is the proper height of a beater that weighs oh, say 4 oz. BTW, I love math but am out of practice really. I'm sure there would be a v...

Re: Tama drum throne
I'll weigh in here, no pun intended...lol I've got the roc n soc bicycle and I'm very happy with it. Wouldn't recommend the nitro though. If i didn't have a roc n soc I'd probably play the dw one although I hate thrones that move up and down.

Re: What heads are you currently using?
Oh, the Evans are more expensive but they last twice as long, again in my opinion... And, who buys 10-20 snare heads at a time? I never have. Then you simply don't play as much. Working drummers use heads. The working guys I know buy in bulk. I probably log 10-20x the playing hours as you. Gi...

Re: What heads are you currently using?
I'm using coated G2's and coated emad on the kick. Coated G1 on the snare. The g2's are about 2 years old and hardly have a mark on them.
