Re: Minus Drums Backing tracks

For rock, there are lots there:

Looks like someone made mp3s from the drumless RockBand tracks. Dunno if it's legal or not (well probably not). I use a couple of them for teaching.

Re: Ask A Drum Tech!!!

Wanted to dust off my old dynamics chops but found this: Pedal Physics http://ostinato_drumming.tripod.com/id48.html And no spring? Apparently Buddy could play blazing singles without the spring. Legend or not, I already tried it and nothing could move. It kinda defies terrestrial physics when your ...

Re: Any good shows in LA March 5-11?

Ok. The BP calendar only shows December events and there’s nothing for now at Catalina for that week. Is La Ve Lee closed? Would love to catch something like Oz Noy, Mike Landau, Mendoza-Heredia-Neto or Altered. I’ll be staying downtown. Haven’t booked my hotel yet…but I wanna book gigs. There are p...

Re: Some silly stuff

Too funny...and true! I went on xtranormal and found out that it's been developed here (Montreal) by guys I knew. I have lots of ideas for funny and true drumming scenarios and tried to give a shot at "Text-to-Movie". It's kinda long and painful. To get a decent speech flow that doesn't so...

Re: Best Bags & Cases

2 rides, 2 hats... no crashes?! crazy. Was this intended at me? If so you missed that I also wrote that I have 3 crashes. No stores carry hard cases anymore in my area. They take me for an Alien when I ask for a hard tom or cymbal case: "Nobody uses that. Check those Protection Racket bags out...

Re: Best Bags & Cases

If you gig a lot, hard cases, from my experience are the way to go. I've had my Humes & Berg Enduros for 20 years and I can't count the number of times they salvage my drums. I've padded them with high density foam to fit but you can get them padded also. If you want to get help to carry your ge...

Re: Snarky Puppy: u gotta love this

Wow! I dig.

All live. 4 keys, 3 guits, 2 drums,...Everybody grooves and swings.
Looks they're all sidemen of major artists.

Much better than Skinny Puppy...

Re: Pretty cool warmup, eh?

He's not warming up, he's playing in front of an audience.
Hard for me to get past 4:00. Is there something interesting happening after that?

Heil Jazz! ;)
