Re: A serious & embarrasing one...
There are no tricks. No gimmicks. You either want to do something or you dont. Ihave found over the years that if I procrastinate about doing something that is supposed to be fun, deep down I dont want to do it at all. It's one thing to put off doing chores or even a crappy project at work. But when...

Re: Vinnie's new cymbals
The cymbals sound great, and the drums as well. I was even more impressed while watching realizing the toms werent mic'ed. I dont care much for the A Customs but I like these. The prices are a bit ridiculous. I've payed less for new K crashes than the price for those splashes. The ride though is ext...

Re: Hey Gavin Harrison, how did you like NAMM?
I can only find them onsale in Europe. My wife has already asked me how much this will set us back. Haha. I'm usually not into things that could fall into the gimmick category i.e changable cams, tuning "systems", blah blah blah. But the ammenities to this snare seem very logical and relev...

Re: Favorite songs without hihat?
I remember reading somewhere, maybe in an interview with Keltner that the drummer on Neil Young's Harvest was forced to sit on his right hand so to not play the hi-hat. True or not, I do believe that there is no hi-hat on Old Man off of that record.

Re: The Intersphere
Besides the use of big sounding chords in a rock band, what reminds you of Dredg? I only ask because El Cielo and Catch Without Arms(especially this one<<<) are always in heavy rotation at my house. CWA is one of the best albums of the last 10 yrs in my opinion.

Re: Russ Miller leaves Yamaha- Yamaha moving to China?
I have one Mapex snare, a 10 yr old Black Panther Brass and its great. I wouldn't buy their kits though. I've always looked at Mapex as a stepping stone endorsement. I'm sure a good player/tuner could make them sing but I've never felt passionately about them. Plus Greg Bissonette swears by them so....

Re: imagining practice
Ive been thinking of this(no pun intended) for a long while. I was just a bit hesitant to vocalize it behind the fact I figured most people would tell me I was off my rocker. Thanks for posting.
