Re: Poll: Timekeeping... external or internal?

While no link between timekeeping and heartbeat has been shown ... ...It has been shown that people have what are called 'preferred tempi'... ...80-120 bpm with 100 being the epicenter of what most people prefer... During my CPR refresher course yesterday, I was reminded that the American Heart Ass...

Re: James Black!!! radio documentary on youtube

Wonderful music and amazing drumming.

Before I even listened to the documentary, Black's photo reminded me a lot of a friend of my son's.

As I listened to the story of how escalating drug use led to his death, the similarity increased; my son's friend died in a similar manner.

Re: Poll: Timekeeping... external or internal?

Curiously, babies are born with a sense of meter Maybe from hearing their mother's heartbeat in the womb. Is that our first music lesson, associating sound with emotion? I think timekeeping for me is external, because listening and following come naturally to me. My internal clock has an elastic me...

OOH S#!T!

That was so funky and skunky I could smell it from here!

Smoke, Sweat, Drink, Brown Water, Crawdads.

I feel like I could easily jam to that for an hour.

Re: Drum video - Green Flower Street

At first I couldn't get the video to work, and I was so disappointed about not being able to see Sturla play that bee-you-tee-full yellow kit.

Third try was the charm; Sturla never disappoints!

Re: NAMM 2012

A few years ago I made a drum out of a coffee can and a Remo practice pad; that's why I like this Kit:

They can't complain that your drums sound like tin cans if that's what they look like!
