Re: NAMM 2012

Yup I'll be there Thursday and Friday for sure. Sounds like I need to return on Saturday and hang.

Looking forward to our annual reunion!

Re: Let's talk (budget) home recording setups!

In the mix, I would increase the level of the close mics (SD, BD and TOMS). +1 for sure. It sounds like the majority of the sound is coming from the overheads, which is a great sound. However, bringing in more of the closed mic channels will give you even more punch and tone in the toms. Also, try ...

For hand-picked mics, these would be some great choices: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/KSM137ST/ We use one of these on Erskine's snare at his place. Fantastic for overhead as well. Bissonette tonight (Sunday 27th) at Cordiale

Hey HODers,

sorry for the late notice, but Gregg is playing with this crazy quintet tonight at Cafe Cordiale starting around 8PM. I'll be there, so if you happen to stop by, let me know.

Thanks!

Re: Shure E5 question...

Hey Chooch,

based on the Sensaphonic website, my guess is the current model of the E5 is the SE535:

BTW, it's your fault that I'm still loving my E5's with the custom ear molds!!!

Enjoy!

RIP.

His playing on Frankenstein influenced me so much! Of course as a kid, I had no idea Edgar was playing all those timbales!
