Re: VINNIE - The thread about Colaiuta

Some tasty fills and super tight groove here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mri8H7Q1UOU Cool that Vince got a shout out. Herbie always amazes me. 78 years old, and he's still a monster - not a bit of resting on past achievements as a Jazz Icon (which he very easily could do.) He's still as releva...

Re: OFFICIAL JEFF PORCARO THREAD

Very Cool..... a few more for you to try out:
1) Jeffrey's Rosanna groove over Fool In the Rain (the inverse of your first one)
2) Purdie's Home At Last groove over Rosanna

Re: Hired Gun Documentary

Saw that, great doc. Luke talking about hanging with Jay Graydon, and just "coming up" with the intro to Turn Your Love Around for George Benson. Just like he "came up" with Talk To Ya Later by the Tubes, etc..... dude is a musical genius. Also, I hope Liberty DeVito saved his pe...

Re: OFFICIAL JEFF PORCARO THREAD

Maybe a different part of Asia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfAwBBTiCeQ Pretty good actually, considering it's not their native tongue. After all, you never know who is watching right? Drummer gets bogged down keeping all the ghost notes on the snare. It took me a long time to really listen and...

Re: Mr. Gadd

Very relaxed, and I love the space he leaves for the percussion, and Chick's keyboard run at 1:20. The ultimate confidence to play simply when it's required to serve the music best. I hope all these guys are around for a long time to come... (Gadd, Vinne, Herbie, Chick, etc...) They're national trea...

Re: Zach Danziger Master Thread

I watched some of the Edit Bunker Facebook videos, and their TED Talk...... Both of them are obviously off the charts intelligent and creative. If they weren't musicians, they'd be Physics professors, Neurosurgeons, Inventors or the like. Very cool stuff.

Re: John Abercrombie R.I.P.

What sublime touch Peter has..... that's one of my favorite all time instructional videos. Love his sound, ideas, etc....

Big loss, Abercrombie was a great player.

Re: Richie Barshay

wikipedia says this guy was born in 1983. So... let's see..... at the time of this concert in 2006 when he was absolutely shredding with Herbie..... HE WAS 23 YEARS OLD..........

Wow.......... I'm blown away
