I remember doing something similar during a show. I was making goofy faces and clowning around on stage (which I later regretted and felt it was unprofessional).

I was in Junior High. The band director's wife told me she was disappointed by my conduct after the show.

Ive been using Vater 5B's for over 10 years now. I recently had the opportunity to try out some others (at that companies request), sticking with Vater.

Interesting question. There's pros and cons to having anything on the right/left side of the kit simply because the opposite hand is available to use the kit at the same time. So, left side china = I can easily hit anything right of the china with my right hand while hitting the china with my left. ...
