I really think relying on certain techniques for speed can be a good and a bad thing. I spent a lot of time on the moeller technique, and when that push pull thing was getting a lot of heat, I worked on that every free second I had. I'm pretty sure Weckl has the legit latin stuff on lock down... I mean he hangs with El Negro. Also, on his cds Heads Up and Hard Wired anything latin, if looked at in transcription, retains a lot of congruency to legit songo beats.

lol, not to burst your bubble, but being Zildjians, you could own the exact same set up and it would sound way different, especially if you use different sticks.

You'd be better off walking into a cymbal vault blindfolded with a pair of sticks in your hand.

This method isn't much different then the syncopation stuff....
