Re: Vinnie's new cymbals

He is absolutely right about the sound of these cymbals being "mixed". They are almost pitched. He's also right about the evenness of the ride, which could be almost a drawback. Laying into a cymbal sometimes means finding that sweet spot and finding the character of the cymbal. Paistes la...

Re: Vinnie's new cymbals

The 602s are very soft cymbals...not loud at all, and definitely have a high limit in volume.

I have an old series 7 pangish type of china, and it does not have much volume at all. Nice sounding, but it is an odd duck compared to 2002s and most of the Zildjians I've played.

Re: Glen Sobel

I used to go see Jeff Kollman quite a bit around Detroit, well, at the one place they would play out up here, the Ritz.

Killer band. Kevin Chown is a killer bassist, he's been around too.

Re: Vinnie's new cymbals

They are less "springy" than Zs to me. They might feel a little less active under the stick, but that makes them easier to control.

It's subjective.

Re: Vinnie's new cymbals

They are two totally separate cymbal lines. One sounds good, so does the other.

Because this argument about Paiste has been around since I started playing! :o)
