Re: Official Virgil Donati thread
I always wind up commenting on this thread. For me: that Planet X stuff shakes the ground. He thinks on another ground. That's all. Many thought the same way about Tony and Billy for years and years and people are still coming round to what they did and not just recently but earlier in their careers...

Re: Jojo's new pedal
Thank you, Morg. You are such a gentleman. I appreciate it. I have always known that he preferred rounded cams and well, of course, most of you that know me, know that I do not prefer them. A look at his foot technique and right away, you know it is eccentric. There is a lot of movement and sliding ...

Re: Jojo's new pedal
Thank you, Cheggs and hi, everyone. It's been a while and I am sure, as it has been for me, with life marching on and unrelenting - it has been for you. I miss being here and hope to reacquaint myself with old friends, as well as make new ones. First, THIS is a pedal that I have been eagerly waiting...

Re: Steve Hass new youtube channel!
Hass can do no wrong. He is SO good.
One of my very faves. So dynamic. So
many worlds in him. In my opinion, what
every drummer should want to be.
Regards,
P

Story: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music-arts/ralph-macdonald-dies-67-grammy-winning-artist-wrote-love-article-1.993313 Oh, man! I am gutted. I can't tell you how many times I saw them, together. See and hear the rhythmic composition of both of them. I know Steve is heartbroken. As a ma...

Re: Composed vs. Improvised solos
I love composed solos WHEN they are made part of the music. Right away, I think of the work Steve did on The Three Quartets album, with Chick. Steve is VERY structured but I think he plays within the musical context and that is what does it for me. It's so dynamic and a part. Ndugu is like that, too...
