Re: Marco Minnemann

First two clips aren't his best stuff, IMO. However, I always enjoy the Monty Python stuff he does. Marco can groove, but I wish he'd throw more of that stuff up online-- as of now, he'll groove for a few seconds and then go into that crackhead bumblebee fluttery independence stuff all over the plac...

Re: Big Weckl announcement?

Anybody here who hasn't pledged at least the minimum (15$?) should get off their ass and pony up. Dave is one of the premier drummers of our time, and he's put a smile on our faces many times through the years. Come on people, step up to the plate. Thanks, but I already did get off my ass and pony ...

Re: MP's rage outburst on stage.

Yeah, sounds like MP kinda steamrolled into the situation guns blazin'. The video interview in the link above (starting at 9:00 in) is a little different than the transcript. For one, I didn't realize that MP never rehearsed with their band before he played his first gig with them, which I thought w...

Re: MP's rage outburst on stage.

I'm not Randy, but here is my guess: MP: "Hey guys, I want to tour with this young metal-hip band called Avenged Sevenfold. They actually sell out venues in the U.S. and it would be cool to play for some non-musician audience members. Plus, the band worships me and I'll get first dibs on groupi...

Re: MP's rage outburst on stage.

That's funny that Patton dude is making fun of other bands-- like he is a household name :|

Furthermore, I'd like to see him try and put that security guard in a headlock like that once he's off the clock. I'd pay more to see that than I would for a Faith No More concert.

Re: MP's rage outburst on stage.

I guess MP's forgotten what it is like to gig and have: bass drum pedal springs come off; beaters fall off; bass drums endlessly scoot away from you all night because you forgot your carpet mat; floor tom legs give out causing them to fall over; cymbal booms loosening and falling onto your drums dur...

Re: TONY ROYSTER JR - MONTREAL DRUM FEST 2012

I grabbed a set of V-Drums some years ago as I wanted the ability to shed whenever my schedule dictated, and not when the neighbor's sleep schedule's dictated. Therefore, to that end, they are great. In terms of replicating kits (let alone having a decent feel, i.e. *sucks*), I've never been pleased...

If we can get Dave to make that the name of this new album, then I'll buy two copies.

Re: Big Weckl announcement?

I don't find it greedy at all - however, I don't find it interesting either. Jay Oliver ('s playing) was never my cup of tea and his sounds are still horrible. Weckl's sound has evolved from his earliest work, where it was boxy, gated and un-natural to one of the most beautiful natural kit-sounds. ...
