Re: Big Weckl announcement?
After watching the video last night I was kind of impressed. I didn't click on the link yet to donate, I will though. As for the music, well, while I don't think it will be groundbreaking, I can appreciate the fact that Dave isn't all over the map. He has found/created something and he is taking it ...

Re: VC on the cover of next month MD.
Paul, I almost wrote that second paragraph myself except I would have substituted Carter Beauford for Phil Collins. I didnt get into drum gear till about 8 years after I started playing playing. In fact I never paid attention to drum sizes at all till I started getting into Carter.

If advertising meant nothing and didn't sway people to at least check out a product why does every company music or not spend a ton of money on advertising? Not being argumentative, I would just like to know.

Re: Gary Novak with Gretsch?
Julian, with all due respect, I'm gonna go with Hagi's observation. Of course there are other factors involved, but I would bet that the aging issue is more than 1%.

Re: Gary Novak with Gretsch?
In my opinion, one portion of the old verses new argument that is sometimes left out is the aging of the wood and the metal(for cymbals). Wood continues to dry over time, and I feel the molecules as they are aging respond to the player. Take DW(hold on all you haters). All I always here about is &qu...

Re: New kit with a 5 month wait for now non-standard sizes.
I get nervous with my 15" Birch Custom hanging tom sometimes. I'm not a heavy hitter but we all can get carried away. That being said, I have 2 floor toms with legs on my DW kit and sometimes, since they arent straight legs, I have to adjust to fit on the riser my one band carries. Most of the ...

Re: Malleus Pedals
If it aint broke, dont break it. Or something like that. I have to agree it is not the smartest move to charge almost 1000$ for a pedal that doesnt use a drum key. If the aim is for the average working drummer, like the members here, well then unfortunately it is a bit moronic. I understand new thin...

Re: Remo Reverse Dot name change?
I highly recommend trying the "X" heads. Ive used the Emperor X for years and recently tried the Ambassador X with a black dot underneath on a 12 year old maple solid shell. Outstanding in my opinion. I love it.
