Re: speed test

That said, DCI style drumming is often OVER-RATED in terms of it's usefulness within the real world of making a living playing drums, imho of course Interesting you said that... Would you care to elaborate about it? Thanks! Let me say this first. DCI style rudimental snare drumming has done much fo...

Had a fairly surly and dismissive reply from those concerned saying stuff like: 'The tempi indicated are progressive throughout the 8 grades and are there as guide. Wit...

Re: speed test

I have personally never seen reference to a "drag paradiddle" with a drag for a pick up . As you stated, according to the Vic Firth / PAS 40, what you have presented is not part of the standard category of rudiments: http://www.vicfirth.com/education/rudiments.php As notated, it is ridicul...

Re: Vinnie/Gretsch divorce?

I heard a story from somebody who was present at SIR in Los Angeles in mid/late September during a drum testing session of sorts. Vinnie was testing a few, 4 or so, Ludwig kits. Apparently, he was unhappy was them. I don't know if he eventually choose something on that testing session or not, but on...

RIP Ronald Shanon Jackson

RSJ never got enough credit for the amazing shit he did, imho of course. He was one of those eternally hip cats. Man, Jojo looks like a kid but he sounds great. Interesting band with Othello ad Ernest Ranglin. Mad props to Jojo for having this in his history.

Thx for the info, guys.
Any information about the grey coating inside the shells? When did that start? Does it separate some RC's from others in particular way?
