Re: Vinnie Clinic London 1987 [audio]

I'm sorry but every occasion I have had to meet Vinnie, I have found him friendly, winsome and willing to talk. I've not witnessed him being standoffish, which doesn't mean that he hasn't been, but in all the times that I have seen him, you'd think that one would see it at least once. Frankly, there...

Re: New Tony Williams Lifetime 1979 w/ B. Brunel video

sjj, I hear you. Listening to these guys through the terrible sound of the era is difficult. The sounds of the drums and the styles (I've always hated the yellow kit with the black dot heads all around) are the infancy of fusion music today. However, for me, when I listen to Tony, I see an icon that...

Re: New (old) Vinnie footage?

I was referring to the snare fill that goes into the ladder. It sounds like doubles, but not just doubles. Anyone that can help with just that would be great.

Re: Blushda Alert

That Bert and Ernie clip was CLASSIC! The best part of this thread was that it led me back to THE blushda video with Steve. I can't believe that it's been over 10 years since that! Crazy. But, what was even better was being led over to the PHX Demo that is on Steve's channel. There is, around 4:00-4...

Re: Blushda Alert

This guy has to be a troll...At least I hope that's the case. One would think that anyone with any vested interest in their own internet image, would never think to burn any bridges by acting the way that this person has. I hope that if anyone knows the real Mike J., that they would reach out to him...

You're Getting Old As A Drummer When...

...You tire of seeing poorly produced Youtube videos with "drum jamz." Actually, you are more perturbed about the fact that they spelled "JAMS" wrong! ... You roll your eyes at the phrase, "I do this flamaparaflafla in 37, with the accent on the 13th and 25th note!" Can...

Re: Dream Theater

That. Was. Really fun! I loved watching that, even though I too am not a DT or MP fan. Something that was said really held true for me and encapsulated the musical experience: Finding a home. Finding a fit. Belonging. That is what it's all about. And you can tell that Mangini, by his response, was t...
