Re: ROBBEN FORD TRIO LIVE VIDEO - PARIS

What a great tune. The playing is just off the hook here. TONS of pocket and feeling.

Re: Help! Bearing Edges on Maple Custom Absolutes

Not sure where you live, but....Bill over at Pork Pie drums in Canoga Park is an excellent person to have your edges looked at/done by. You might want to give him a call. Very affordable too as well. My friend Dave Karasony (plays for the Rippingtons) is a genius at tuning & getting to get drums...

Re: VINNIE COLAIUTA: New CD--Finally, a winner

Vinnie plays on ALL tracks . If you dug "Surafacing" by John Beasley, you'll surely dig this one. Open, not fusion-y, not layered like the Mark Varney products, has a J Baron, Blade vibe to it, but played by the only one who can play anyone's music and make it interesting....VC. There is ...

Re: Some Footage of Me in the Woodshed With a Practice Pad

How long do you think it would take someone to develop your finger control to play notes at the speed in which you do? Say, if you practiced everyday about a 1/2 hr or so?

Re: Dave Weckl Touring Schedule !?

If my schooling schedule isn't as crazy as it was this week, I'll be at the Oz Noy gig. Even before I was introduced to Dave a long time ago, I could always tell he was a pretty enterprising fellow. Lets not forget how well he did with his videos, cymbals, drums, sticks, books, etc. I'm sure he's st...

Re: HoD 2011 Hang Sat Feb 26th!!!

I'd love to be there, it's three days after my Birthday. Great way to celebrate. If we don't have to send them back to Japan, I could bring one of the new Club Customs with me......... Man! Those drums DO sound good! Very tonal. I could see how those would be cool for a club gigs and stuff. Especia...

Re: Dave Weckl Touring Schedule !?

Very true. Dave always keeps himself busy. For the 18 years now that I've known him, I've never seen him slow down. He's always got about 10 things in the fire. Which is why I guess he's managed to make a pretty decent living at playing (and marketing) the drums. (so I don't think he's really experi...

Re: Dave Weckl Touring Schedule !?

Daves website was just updated. He's doing Oz Noy here in L.A. at Catalinas soon. Sometime in Feb I think. He's been spending a lot of time in Europe. Thats where the work seems to be nowadays since things have dried up here in the U.S. I've heard from some other jazz recording artists that things a...
