Re: What heads are you currently using?
and spent a good 20 of those years on the road playing every city and state in this country/in clubs 6 nights a week. I just hope that some here might find my opinions valid or at least worth some thought. I'm not attacking YOU, I'm attacking your comment. It's not a personal thing. Just I can't he...

Re: What heads are you currently using?
Evans snare heads last twice as long as a Remo Ambassador and sonically just sound better. I tried Evans heads on my whole kit (Yamaha Recording Custom at the time) for about a year back in the early 90s, and then switched back to Remo. I tried an Evans snare head again about six years ago, and aga...

Seriously, this is the kind of drummer I want to be when I grow up.
Can you imagine? Unfortunately, he probably wouldn't win a store competition playing like this.

Close your eyes, and stories will happen right there in your head.
Excellent! I had some doubts in the beginning. But, all questions were answered, if you know what I mean.

Snare: Evans J1 etched on top; Ambie snare on bottom
Toms: Coated Aquarian Studio X's on top; Clear Ambies on bottom
Bass: Aquarian Superkick on back; Coated Ambie on front (no other muffling)
PS: I've never had trouble with Remo quality. I have had some inconsistent quality with Evans heads.

Re: the moeller killer - will it make a difference ??
Um, looked at a few videos and didn't see much Moeller technique being demonstrated. Am I missing something? Ya, he's "killing moeller" by using basically a modified Gladstone technique. Ahh! In that case, he's killin' me, because, IMHO, one doesn't really substitute that well for the oth...

Re: the moeller killer - will it make a difference ??
It seems like Jojo´s Secret Weapon has become a classic among hand technique videos but the truth is, people like myself who have never actually mastered the single stroke roll will always be looking for the next "big secret"... so I ran across this guy called Seth Davis on Youtube. I´m n...

Re: Steve Smith: Guitar Center Drum Off Finals
Let the double bass commence. Ugh..... Bad experience for me, sorry. Judged it two years ago state here, never again! It was THE most un-musical thing I have ever been a part of, and considering that I was pimped as a drum teacher at a music school, man.... it was ugly. Blindfolds and all. I judged...

Unbelievable! First Johan, now Mike Skiba! That's awful and bizarre. Both young and seemingly healthy. I'm speechless!
RIP Mike!
