Take the clear ones, forge signatures of famous drummers, sell them on eBay.
Seriously, who buys those things, and how are you going to get it verified as "authentic?" If you had access to the latter you wouldn't need the former.
But I digress.

The only date I can't make it for sure coincides with NAMM. I'll be in Phoenix re-launching a TV station. But if someone can nail down a date with a few weeks notice I'll take the time off and drive out.

Re: New Years Eve gigs anyone?
I could have gigged on more than one occasion. Lots of people putting together bands just for tonight -- lots of pros and lots of amateurs. Everyone who wants to work gets a gig on NY Eve, don't they?

Re: Vinnie with Queen Latifah
yeah, i wouldn't criticize. They all probably showed up, ran through once for sound check, then played live. That's what makes those LA session greats all the more awe-inspiring.

Re: Gowan's Criminal Mind with Styx/Todd
I would not want to try to replicate original Jerry Marotta parts, but I wouldn't want to try to replicate Todd Sucherman parts, either. LOL Great stuff, Todd. JM is definitely coming from a different part of the brain than most other drummers. Both of the brothers, actually. I read they grew up wit...

Re: Sight reading
Step 1: Grab a chart -- horn, piano, guitar, whatever
Step 2: Sing the parts
Step 3: Play time while singing the parts
Rinse. Repeat.
For standards, it wouldn't hurt it at all to play along and learn how the greats interpreted them.

Re: Need traditional Left hand push/pull advice
NMost people don't see the physical affects of playing Trad - it's just flat out bad for your hands. Players who play Trad for years, who shred for years with it have cysts, calcium build ups, etc... If you ever get a chance to meet people like Vinnie, Weckle, Dontai take a look at their left hands...
