Re: Lyle Mays
Cool interview, thanks for bringing this up! I like the analogy of a cash withdrawal, beyond playing licks. Although licks are cool when you don't know what to play else, isn't that a cash withdrawal as well?

Re: What metronome do you use?
No, just for practice in my case. I use Tama's RW on stage and Alesis SR16 when midi is involved. A Roland or Yamaha brain (or laptop) does the job for midi as well when you need to start sequencers and all that shit. As long as it has midi out in case you prefer to be master. Yamaha's click station...

Re: MODERN DRUMMER FESTIVAL 2011 PREVIEW
Tain is the MAN for a long time already but you can see him on YT and buy his CD's. The Colaiuta / Karizma MD festival is the last DVD I bought from them and I feel kinda reluctant to buy this one. Somehow I feel that MD needs to go back to their quality level from a couple of years ago before I sta...

Sabian Cymbal Vote
You can watch Dave Weckl trying new click hats from Sabian here http://www.cymbalvote.com/
Every new cymbal has a couple of vids. I do not recommend the Neil Peart vids.

Ghostnotes
Hey, I am working on James Brown and The Meters grooves from Stanton Moore's book Groove Alchemy and The Code of Funk from Garibaldi. I was wondering how you are playing the ghostnotes in grooves like that. David Garibaldi sees them as part of the groove and is very aware of the placement and volume...

Re: Vinnie w/ Sting on the Today Show 10/19/11
You can start the Tama RW with a pedal or trigger(pad) which I preffered. You never miss the pad but you might push the pedal and switch it off at the same time. All these devices suck a bit because there is no midi out except for the Alesis but that one isn't as easy as the RW and Clickstation. So ...
